SERVICE OPPORTUNITY! Salvation Army's Monthly Community Food Distribution!

Each month Year round on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays from 2:00 pm to 4 pm The Salvation Army of Greenville, NC serving Pitt County has a community Food Distribution. This event will serve Pitt County families and Senior Citizens, Veterans who are in need. This is a two-hour event and there is some heavy lifting involved. There is a need for volunteers to help with the curbside distribution, from collecting the data of the applicants and making sure the forms are filled out correctly to helping lift boxes and bags into each vehicle. There is a little something for both the heavy lifters and the light duty volunteers. Dress comfortable with closed toed shoes and be prepared to work outdoors.

A large food box containing can foods and dry good grocery's is provided along with bagged goods of cold or frozen foods, to each Senior Citizen, low-income family or Veteran in need. You do not need to be part of The Salvation Army Church to be helped. This food distribution is open to the community.

The Salvation Army needs volunteers to help distribute the food which has been prepared by volunteers and employees for this special event. If you as an individual or a group are interested in coming out to help with this food distribution or (the preparation of food for this distribution) please reach out to Kimberly Beyer our Volunteer Coordinator who will help you get set up as a regular volunteer and schedule you for this monthly/by weekly event.
